Receiving Team Leader

This is a “working” team leader role that provides guidance to team members in a fast paced warehouse environment in execution of daily activities to meet departmental goals in order-fulfillment, inventory control, quality, and receiving for Field’s Receiving Team. This position requires direct involvement with daily operations and future projects to support company growth objectives. This position is also responsible for overseeing the activities of team members and for ensuring building security after hours as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Commit to FIELD’s Mission Statement, Core Values, and Fieldamentals.
  • Responsible for planning and scheduling work assignments to the team to meet business needs.
  • Leadership responsibilities for team members in shipping or receiving, including training, performance management, and effectiveness.
  • Perform general shipping, receiving, and warehouse duties involving physical handling of product, materials, and supplies.
  • Operate a forklift or other warehouse equipment as needed.
  • Ensure effective and safe equipment available for the team.
  • Take an active role in supporting and maintaining safety programs.
  • Ensure team members obtain training and are in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Engage in the selection and training of new team members.
  • Conduct daily communication meetings that provide information to the team.
  • Have a positive influence on and assist in the development of the individual team members in order to promote a positive culture.
  • Conduct team member performance evaluations.
  • Participate in the continual development and improvement of warehouse standard operating procedures.
  • May troubleshoot receiving, shipping, and/or technical issues.
  • May fill in for other leadership positions as needed.
  • Perform periodic bending, kneeling, twisting, lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education, Skills, Experience Required:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Polite and professional manner.
  • A minimum of 3 years in a warehouse or manufacturing operation.
  • Prior leadership experience.
  • Effective leadership skills, including coaching and teaching.
  • Proven track record of results.
  • Experience with warehouse equipment such as RF scanner, forklifts, etc..
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, team-based environment.
  • Ability to address conflict and concerns with team members.
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong written/communication skills to interact with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Time management skills, delegation skills, and attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated, well organized.
  • Ability to drive results without a great deal of direct supervision.
  • Must have previous Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) experience.
  • Willingness to travel by airplane for training.
  • Able to communicate fluently in English.

Additional Skills Preferred:

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in related field.
  • Experience in blueprint reading a plus.
  • Mechanical or technical ability a plus.
  • Knowledge of kitting equipment/machinery a plus.
