Production Team Leader

This position will be responsible for leading team members in a fast-paced kitting and assembly warehouse environment.  This position will support company goals in inventory control, quality, order-fulfillment, assembly/kitting, process improvement, and customer satisfaction. This position is also responsible for overseeing the activities of team members and for ensuring building security after hours as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Commit to FIELD’s Mission Statement, Core Values, and Fieldamentals.
  • Responsible for coordinating and communicating the production schedule.
  • Meet daily production, shipping, and receiving responsibilities.
  • Leadership responsibilities for team members operating and maintaining kitting equipment/machinery.
  • Take an active role in supporting and maintaining safety programs.
  • Ensure team members obtain training and are in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Engage in the selection and training of new team members.
  • Conduct daily communication meetings that provide information to the team.
  • Have a positive influence on and assists in the development of the individual team members in order to promote a positive culture.
  • Conduct team member evaluations.
  • Fill in for other leadership positions as needed.
  • Participate in the continual development and improvement of warehouse standard operating procedures.
  • May perform general duties involving physical handling of product, materials, and supplies.
  • May troubleshoot receiving, shipping, and/or technical issues.
  • Perform periodic bending, kneeling, twisting, lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education, Skills, Experience Required:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Polite and professional manner.
  • A minimum of 3 years in a warehouse or manufacturing operation.
  • Prior leadership experience.
  • Proven track record of results.
  • Experience with production scheduling systems and procedures.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, team-based environment.
  • Ability to address conflict and concerns with team members.
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong written/communication skills to interact with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Time management skills, delegation skills, and attention to detail.
  • Effective leadership skills, including coaching and teaching.
  • Highly motivated, well organized.
  • Ability to drive results without a great deal of direct supervision.
  • Must have previous Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) experience.
  • Willingness to travel by airplane for training.
  • Able to communicate fluently in English.

Additional Skills Preferred:

  • Some college courses preferred.
  • Experience in blueprint reading a plus.
  • Mechanical or technical ability a plus.
  • Knowledge of kitting equipment/machinery a plus.
