Lead team members in a fast-paced warehouse environment to meet operational goals in order-fulfillment, shipping, inventory control, and quality. Position requires direct involvement with daily operations and future projects to support company growth objectives. Position takes a hands-on leadership approach, mentoring the team, and completing work assignments along-side the shipping team.
Essential Functions:
- Commit to FIELD’s Mission Statement, Core Values, and Fieldamentals.
- Supervise team members’ daily activities including work assignments, quality standards, and providing excellent service to customers.
- Ensure team members obtain training and are in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for interviewing, selection, and training of new team members required to meet staffing needs.
- Conduct daily communication meetings to the team and provide relevant information and updates.
- Participate in the continual development and improvement of warehouse standard operating procedures for the facility.
- Meeting daily shipment responsibilities, including VMI, Discreet, UPS, FedEx, DHL, and LTL.
- Take an active role in supporting and maintaining Safety and ISO programs.
- Troubleshoot shipping and/or technical issues, provide solutions, and problem-solve.
- Conduct regular team member evaluations, coaching conversations, and performance feedback.
- Take a hands-on approach in the development and skills of the team members.
- Operate and maintain warehouse equipment including forklifts.
- Ensure work areas are clean and organized.
- General duties involve physical handling of product, materials, and supplies which requires periodic bending, kneeling, twisting, lifting of 50 pounds.
- Fills in for other positions as needed.
Education, Skills and Experience Required:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Polite and professional manner.
- 2 years + leadership experience.
- Proven track record of results.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, team-based environment.
- Ability to address conflict and concerns with team members.
- Effective coaching and teaching skills.
- Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook knowledge.
- Strong written/communication skills to interact with internal and external customers and suppliers.
- Strong time management skills, delegation skills, and detail orientation.
- Highly motivated, well organized.
- Ability to drive results without a great deal of direct supervision.
- Ability to work overtime as necessary.
- Must have previous Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) experience.
- Some college courses preferred.
- Experience in blueprint reading is a plus.
