Warehouse Team Leader - Leader

Branch Team Leader

Lead team members in a fast-paced warehouse environment to meet operational goals in order-fulfillment, shipping, inventory control, and quality. Position requires direct involvement with daily operations and future projects to support company growth objectives. Position takes a hands-on leadership approach, mentoring the team, and completing work assignments along-side the shipping team.

Essential Functions:

  • Commit to FIELD’s Mission Statement, Core Values, and Fieldamentals.
  • Supervise team members’ daily activities including work assignments, quality standards, and providing excellent service to customers.
  • Ensure team members obtain training and are in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for interviewing, selection, and training of new team members required to meet staffing needs.
  • Conduct daily communication meetings to the team and provide relevant information and updates.
  • Participate in the continual development and improvement of warehouse standard operating procedures for the facility.
  • Meeting daily shipment responsibilities, including VMI, Discreet, UPS, FedEx, DHL, and LTL.
  • Take an active role in supporting and maintaining Safety and ISO programs.
  • Troubleshoot shipping and/or technical issues, provide solutions, and problem-solve.
  • Conduct regular team member evaluations, coaching conversations, and performance feedback.
  • Take a hands-on approach in the development and skills of the team members.
  • Operate and maintain warehouse equipment including forklifts.
  • Ensure work areas are clean and organized.
  • General duties involve physical handling of product, materials, and supplies which requires periodic bending, kneeling, twisting, lifting of 50 pounds.
  • Fills in for other positions as needed.

Education, Skills and Experience Required:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Polite and professional manner.
  • 2 years + leadership experience.
  • Proven track record of results.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, team-based environment.
  • Ability to address conflict and concerns with team members.
  • Effective coaching and teaching skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook knowledge.
  • Strong written/communication skills to interact with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Strong time management skills, delegation skills, and detail orientation.
  • Highly motivated, well organized.
  • Ability to drive results without a great deal of direct supervision.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.
  • Must have previous Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) experience.

Additional Skills Preferred:

  • Some college courses preferred.
  • Experience in blueprint reading is a plus.
