The Human Resources Representative provides tactical direction and consultation to team members and leaders for the Columbus, OH location. This includes critical HR functions such as supporting and enhancing Field culture, recruiting and staffing, team member development, benefits and payroll support, and facility safety. Travel to other remote sites within the geographic region will also be needed.
Essential Functions:
- Commit to FIELD’s Mission Statement, Core Values, and Fieldamentals.
- Serve as the primary HR contact for team members for general questions and employment-related needs.
- Effectively manage the recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and retention activities for Columbus and surrounding sites.
- Provide guidance to team leaders in employment-related topics and activities.
- Manage temporary agency relationships to ensure high quality temporaries and a pipe-line for full-time opportunities.
- Engage in recruiting and networking events such as job fairs, community activities, and customer tours of the Field facility.
- Foster team member engagement through positive communications and providing teamwork-related activities.
- Share feedback and take action on culture survey results.
- Perform various administrative functions including reporting, data entry and tracking, payroll functions, and HR data analysis.
- Support payroll and benefits administration activities, provide resources and information to the team.
- Assist HR Director in driving annual key initiatives and leading HR projects.
- Assess the team for training and development needs, assist with training initiatives, conduct training as needed.
- Ensure consistent, fair, and legally compliant employment practices.
- Coordinate workers compensation cases, work with Safety Team Members to provide a safe workplace, and participate in Safety Team meetings.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of annual goals by recommending new approaches, policy and procedure reviews, and innovation activities.
- Take an active role in promoting positive community relations, attend community events, and coordinate volunteering opportunities for the team to participate.
- Lead the coordination of various site functions, lunches, celebrations, team meetings, and team-building events.
- 10% travel to support additional sites and team members as needed.
- Able to manage other projects and duties as assigned.
Education, Skills and Experience Required:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Two or four year degree in business or a related field; en lieu of education, a minimum of 2 years progressive experience in Human Resources that includes demonstrated performance in multiple HR functions.
- Polite and professional manner.
- Prior experience in a human resource generalist or coordinator capacity.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with internal and external customers.
- Proven ability to interact and relate to all personality types and levels within an organization.
- Able to operate independently and make HR/business decisions, highly motivated, well organized.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, team-based environment.
- Ability to foster a strong company culture and bring people together.
- Demonstrated ability to give constructive feedback, influence others, and provide recommendations.
- Strong time management skills and detail orientation.
- Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook knowledge.
- Prior experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
- SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.
