Serve as the Tyler, Texas Center of Excellence on-site technical resource focusing on quality systems and customer cost reduction activities. Works closely with internal quality, application engineering, implementation, account management, sourcing, and sales teams as well as external customer representatives. Responsible for leading all quality related activity and supporting cost reduction efforts for all Tyler COE internal and external customers.
Essential Functions:
- Commit to FIELD’s Mission Statement, Core Values, and Fieldamentals.
- Make decisions on conforming and non-conforming product.
- Lead and conduct inventory containment actions that arise from product non-conformities.
- Investigate root cause of product non-conformities considering the entire supply chain from customer to supplier.
- Conduct dimensional inspections.
- Assemble complete PPAP packages for customer submission.
- Maintain gage and scale calibration status and records for Tyler COE.
- Support customers serviced by Tyler COE with on-site visits for purposes of troubleshooting issues and identifying cost reduction opportunities.
- Under the direction of the assigned application engineer, assist with line reviews and other VA/VE or CE activities to drive customer cost reductions.
- Support Tyler COE with answers to technical questions.
- Provide technical training to Customers and Tyler team members.
- Lead problem solving and continuous improvement projects.
- Support Tyler and all Mexico COE’s with technical and process expertise.
- Participate on the Field Internal Audit Team.
- Duties split 70% Quality and 30% Applications work.
Education, Skills and Experience Required:
- Associates Degree in technology, or equivalent experience in rail or fastener industry. Will consider equivalent experience in quality assurance and/or manufacturing.
- Polite and professional manner.
- Working knowledge of threaded fasteners.
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with quality management and systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to read blueprints.
