Sales Team Leader

Responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in assigned market. Guides and directs the sales team and provides leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values. Provide guidance, leadership, coaching, cultural engagement, and mentoring to sales team members. Work with Leadership to meet strategic, operational, and tactical objectives of the business.

Essential Functions:

  • Commit to FIELD’s Mission Statement, Core Values, and Fieldamentals.
  • Ensure that all Sales Representatives meet or exceed all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and closes.
  • Responsible for the performance and development of the Sales Representative.
  • Assist sales team in preparation of proposals and presentations.
  • Assist sales team on prospecting trips and outreach calls, providing feedback and coaching.
  • Maintain ongoing awareness of the competitive environment, and other research regarding market conditions.
  • Provide insight and resolution to technical problems to lower costs for customers.
  • Maintain and grow existing customer base, while building networks to create and foster new opportunities for revenue growth.
  • Effectively manage a long and complex selling cycle.
  • Collaborate with others to resolve technical problems with new/existing customers.
  • Travel to customers and contacts in the designated region of the United States or other areas as needed which may require overnight stays.
  • Develop, and partner with Sourcing/Quoting, pricing quotations based on marketing conditions and profit expectations.
  • Develop customer relationships and always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to represent the company in a positive manner.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent business/leadership experience.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience within a business similar to Field’s.
  • Experience in partnering with an executive team.

Technical Skills or other Requirements:

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, team-based environment.
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Polite and professional manner.
