This position is a sales professional that will effectively represent Field in the fastener market. The Territory Sales role will focus on hunting to grow and develop Field’s presence in a dedicated territory. The position will also include supporting existing customers within the territory. Effectiveness in the role is determined by achieving sales goals, actively displaying the Field culture to internal and external customers, and the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively. Knowledge and experience in industrial sales is critical; OEM and fastener experience is preferred.
Essential Duties:
- Commit to FIELD’s Mission Statement, Core Values, and Fieldamentals.
- Goal – meet the revenue and margin expectations for the defined sales territory.
- Be inquisitive – Ask great questions and be a great listener.
- Develop and manage customer relationships while always maintaining professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to represent Field in a positive manner.
- Spend significant time on lead generation and cold/warm calling.
- Build networks to create and foster new opportunities for revenue growth, while maintaining and growing existing customer base.
- Provide insight and resolution to technical problems to lower costs for customers.
- Develop large package pricing quotations based on market conditions and profit expectations.
- Prioritize time based on ROI; work independently, and successfully manage a long, complex selling cycle (6-12+ months).
- Communicate technical problems and opportunities to all levels of the organization.
- Travel to customers and contacts in the territory as needed which may require overnight stays.

- Display a get it done attitude and a sense of urgency to support customers and team members.
- Excel in a team environment and feel comfortable challenging the status quo.
Education, Skills and Experience Required:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Polite and professional manner.
- 2-8 years of industrial sales experience is preferred; does not need to be in the fastener industry.
- OEM sales experience is preferred as well as having connections or contacts at target OEMs to begin the sales networking process.
- Must have experience with a consultative sales approach.
- Willing to embrace our sales process and listen to the customers’ needs/objectives, selling on value, not just price.
- Mechanical aptitude consistent with the ability to communicate technical problems and opportunities to all levels of an organization.
- Ability to sell at all levels of organizations.
- Project management skills: follow through the cycle of identifying opportunities, evaluating options and presenting alternatives and solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills and ability to effectively manage challenging conversations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be creative in problem solving.

Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, some daily and some overnight.
